A tribute to Paul Eells

A man who got his start in Iowa doing radio shows,Paul Eells quickly found himself in front of the camera.

Paul Eells was originally from Iowa but later moved to Nashville, Tennessee before living the rest of his life in central Arkansas. During his ten-year stay in Nashville, he was Sports Director at WSM-TV, later WSMV-TV ,and Voice of the Vanderbilt Commodores on radio. In 1978, he moved to central Arkansas to become sports director at KATV in Little Rock.-Wikipedia

He came to Arkansas and fell in love with state just as much as we love him.He was the VOICE of the razorbacks. You could see the excitement and the joy in his facial expressions when he talked about the hogs.

I remember growing up and the razorbacks would be playing.I would turn on the television, turn the volume down and turn the radio up.I would get an adrenaline rush everytime he said "Oh my,he broke free ......30,20,10,5 TOUCHDOWN ARKANSAS!!!He brought excitement to the game and the whole Razorback program.

I,for one, truly miss Paul Eells. So as one last tribute to a great man and an icon-lets give him one last Woooooooooooooooo PIG SOOIE!

hey jamie... i had no idea you were kt's husband until her "shoutout" post! although i'm an lsu fan, i do appreciate the zeal of a diehard no matter who the team is, and just maybe by keeping up with the hogs thru your blog, i may warm up to the idea of cheering for arkansas one day (except when they're playing for the "boot" that is :-) after all, i do remember a time when i despised lsu, so you never know. in any event, welcome to the blogosphere!

Don't know if I will ever have much to say about football, but I will still be checking in to see what is up with you!
